A Studio Visit to Robin Ranga. What a delight.
Robin Ranga - our wonderful artist from Port Waikato who creates works of sensitivity and beauty in porcelain and ceramic. Robin tackles topics of inequality, women in distress and vulnerability as well as moments of joy, courage and strength. Her porcelain 'There is only One of Me' wall plaques capture a brief moment of humanity, from a child jumping for joy on the beach to a tender hug between mother and child. Her ceramic figures, always leaning to the wall, are exquisite in detail, colour, layering and composition, making each one relatable, telling a unique story of bravery, justice, protection, courage.....
On a misty day of drizzle and rain, we visited Robin and her husband for a stunning visit and interview. We spent hours trading stories of our lives, met the many cats, dogs and chicken by name, to then be transformed into a wonder-world of delight in Robin’s studio.
Robin Ranga has exhibited internationally and nationally, and we are proud to be working alongside her to represent such an important maker/artist.
